“What does it do to a person when they suddenly realize that they aren’t at all the ‘red tulip’ to which they were cultivated or brought up to be? But that they’re, rather, a ‘green cactus,’ to put it metaphorically, whereby they need a different environment in order to be able to thrive according to their nature?”

Prof. Dr. Michael Weiss explores this contemplation in this 4-minute video and sheds light on the difference between a profession and a vocation, or calling.

It’s one’s inner calling, which lives inside every human being, and which every human being can decide to follow, or not. When it comes to education, it’s basically about how we can develop in such a way that it corresponds to our inner calling.
