ABOUT
Martin Keller was born on April 25, 1956, in Lucerne.
After completing his schooling in Lucerne, he trained as a guitarist at the conservatories in Lucerne and Winterthur and worked as a music teacher. In 1983, he began studying theology as a mature student, first at the Church Theological School in Basel and later at the University of Basel. In 1995, he earned his doctorate in Old Testament Studies at the University of Basel. From 1996 to 1997, he was a lecturer in Old Testament Studies and Biblical Hebrew at the Morija Theological Seminary of the Lesotho Evangelical Church in Lesotho. From 1998 to 2020, he served as a parish pastor in the Reformed Parish of Buchs-Rohr and, from 2007 to 2020, as a member of the Church Council of the Reformed State Church of the Canton of Aargau.
He has a particular interest in mysticism, a form of spirituality focused on deep contemplative experiences and spiritual growth processes. From 2004 to 2007, he completed advanced training in spiritual direction, which he continues through regular advanced courses. From 2012 to 2016, he attended the seminar series “The Integrative Enneagram,” a psycho-spiritual path that encompasses all levels of human existence—the mental and emotional as well as the physical and spiritual.
