ABOUT
Germain Weber, who has been a professor emeritus at the University of Vienna since 2019, served as dean of the university’s Faculty of Psychology from 2008 to 2016 and was the long-time director of the postgraduate training program in clinical psychology and health psychology at the university’s Institute of Clinical Psychology.
His research focuses on the fields of clinical psychology and health psychology, particularly on issues and topics related to intellectual disabilities and gerontopsychology.
After studying psychology and anthropology, Germain Weber completed his habilitation at the University of Vienna in 1997 on the topic of mental disorders in adults with intellectual disabilities.
In 2000, he received an international award from the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in Washington, D.C., for achievements in research and practice.
From 2004 to 2022, Germain Weber served as president of Lebenshilfe Austria, an umbrella NGO that works with people with intellectual disabilities to advocate for their interests in Austria.
Between 1996 and 2016, he served as an associate professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Luxembourg.
Since his retirement, Professor Weber has worked as a scientific consultant on inclusion projects for ministries in Austria and Luxembourg.
He is the author of numerous publications.
